This map was based on the game Super Bomberman. In the end, everything turned out better than I expected, though the map scale is a little large. Postal 2 doesn't have many castle-ish textures or meshes and I didn't feel like hunting the web for a bunch of custom textures, so I made do with the Napalm Factory's textures. My first attempt was devoured by the UnrealEd Goblin after I tried to import an audio track for background music. I was never satisfied with the final result for Arena of Evil, and eventually decided to rebuild it. Unlike the real e1m7, several areas were left open, and the map itself had several minor problems, but was still a favorite for many Postal players. The result was a cube-shaped room with a lava pit. The Arena of Evil was my first attempt at recreating the famed Quake map a favorite for many players. This stage was based on the Lucky Ganesh/Paradise Book Repository from the single player game. The decision to include only the explosive weapons comes from the fact that trace weapons just don't work across WarpZones. In addition, there are holes in the floor and ceiling, which also are linked by WarpZones.Įach room has four rocket launcher pickups and eight grenade pickups. The edges of the map are linked to the other side with WarpZones. The level consists of eight small cube-shaped rooms, all linked to each other by smaller cube-shaped passageways. The map itself is fairly simple, yet preplexing. The name for the map came from the map's background music, a techno/club track by TaQ called Abstract Radical Mix. This includes all the music used in the games and unused tracks. In addition, the soundtracks were released separately on Steam where they can be downloaded for free. Released via YouTube and Spotify, this OST encompasses all the music of POSTAL and the POSTAL 2 base game.
